From the 1905/6 Montgomery Ward catalog:

The Keystone Guitar Illustrated above represents another of our wonderful musical instrument bargains, the beauty and tone value of which it is impossible to show on paper. But, if you are in the market for a guitar at this price and wish to get the greatest possible value for your money or in other words if you wish a guitar such as your home dealer would sell you for about $8.00 to $10.00, send us your order for this instrument. The Keystone is full standard size, back and sides grained in perfect imitation of rich rosewood., finely finished and highly polished. The top or sounding board is made of spruce varnished and polished, colored wood inlaid around sound hole, outer edge inlaid with colored wood, broad strip of colored wood inlaid in back, upper and lower edges bound with white celluloid, rosewood finger-board, pearl position dots. American patent head, new pattern, nickel plated tail-piece, steel strings. This guitar has the appearance of genuine rosewood, is a handsome model and the tone is excellent. Each, complete with outfitÉ.. $4.40

Currently the action is still higher than I prefer. See below for the repair process. This was a project guitar when I acquired it from Guitar Emporium in Louisville, which had advertised it as brazilian laminate back and sides.
