Deprive us of our desires if they keep us from your way

Destroy them in your holy fire

And renew our minds we pray.

Judge the fullness of our soul ad cleanse us from our sin

Break our spirit make us whole

As on you we depend

All the idols with which we play

The substitutes we would refute

Make yourself real to us

Lord reveal to us your true and living way.

Take it away, and put it away

Where we can reach them no more

For reaching requires an illicit desire

Unless I 'm reaching for my Lord.

His mercy marries wisdom with His grace

Merciful and Mighty

He burns away our dross and gives his best in its place.

His mercy is everlasting

His mercy is without end

His mercy is forever

Age to age we will depend on

This mercy so mysterious

This mercy devastates

This mercy is reserved

for those who don't deserve

His goodness He will demonstrate.
