Utter Surrender
We need to leave more than we know behind
We would give it all over to you
In full and complete surrender
To turn from our way to the way that is true.
To learn to be dependent, to give up on my strife
As needy as I was at birth
A martyr to this old man, live a consecrated life
An alien and stranger to this earth.
Open every window, open very door
I would hold no place reserved from the presence of My Lord
I will trust in You alone for all that you have done
In absolute devotion- to the Holy One
To serve the one who came not to be served
I will settle in His presence for I am only dust
In utter surrender all my motives unreserved
Even though he slay me yet in Him I will trust.
