Smooth Stone

I place my stony heart into your holy riverís stream

And like a diamond you have polished I would glow and gleam

And Lord you current will surround me till all I know is you alone

And you will turn this piece of gravel into a smooth, smooth stone.

Iíll cast my life into the river and I will not resist the flow

For my pardon and my cleansing I pray Lord make it so

Iíll flee from the flood of this world and instead

Iíll sink down into the riverís bed

And I will rest there in its Holy undertow

Till with the river Iíll flow.

So take me down into the river and wash away my sin

For my pardon and my cleansing -youíll complete what you begin.

Make me a stone of grace thatís polished by the currents of your love

Male me a rock youíll build your kingdom of on earth as in heaven above.
