When self will will not suffice-When your pride and its awful price

Is something you can no longer afford

When your image as a man-Is by your own standard damned

When you've been living in the past-Searching for praise that just didn't last

All your righteous deeds have been ignored

Your sense of worth and the ancient curse-Are both coming from the very same source

When a good man faces the facts that there's no real goodness in his acts

That his heart is wicked and full of deceit

That he is poor and full of need for hope and help and to be freed

The Lord can in that moment make him complete!

For all your worth, for all you are, let your praise to Him heal your scars

Left from where you have been hurt before

Don't cut a deal with yourself- for all your strength can never help

Just go now, just go to the Lord

For in weakness He is strong and He's been there

Beyond the limits of your power cord

Cut off from your means and ways He will give you Hope today
