The plans I've made throughout my life

Have led to selfishness and strife

By seeking my desires alone

I was confused by the unknown.

But god was merciful to me

And from my self has set me free

To be all I can be each day

Eternity is mine to convey

I had a hope and a prayer

Even when I was close to despair

when life was far beyond my repair

My Jesus was there- He was always there!

Now I may not know what the future holds

But I know whose arms all time enfolds

The Lord of every living creature

Is the Lord who holds the future
