December 26, 2005 Arise, Shine, for Your Light has Come!

Here's the Foster tree for 2005. we bought an artificial tree this year- we have always had live trees, but "easy" was in vogue for us this year. We finished it with crocheted ornaments and white glass balls.

We filled the empty curio with our collection of white nativity scenes. All the other curiosities will stay packed until our final move this spring.

The dawgs of Christmas- Missy is not an indoor dog, but will be staying on a bed in the side entry room on frigid days.

This is Sir Bentley, a 17 year old poodle that runs the household of Earnie's brother Roy. He is the smartest dog I ever knew.

Frosty serenades

Mom's festive kitchen table is all ready to receive the meal...

So we all obliged. My brothes Tom and Neil and his family joined us.

I was Santa- distributing christmas gifts...Ho, Ho, Ho!

A Christmas smile from Miss Christmas...

Scene from the Christmas program at Gracepoint...

Neil does a solo....and no he is not in pain..

The children placed ornaments they had made on the tree while the Christmas story from Luke 2 was read.

Ma sits on her throne...presiding over the activities on the Smith side of the family...

Mom's mini-tree...

The celebration has ended on the surface, but the celebration goes on in our hearts. Where meek soulds will receive him still the dear Christ enters in. Come Lord Jesus!

I am catching up on work these next few days. What a blessing to be able to work at home some. I am not looking forward to an extended trip to the National Sales Meeting, but I have to go. I will do my best. In the mean time, Ma Smith is with us and I am trying to help as much as possible. The snow is gone, and it looks like rain today...much to do- I need to get our cars licensed, take the drivers test, prepare for the GRE and sign up for it. It will all get done-eventually.

He Is That Great Light

The people dwelling in the darkness
Have seen a great, great light
Those who dwelt in a dark land
Have seen a wondrous sight

So silently he came into the world
So silently he comes into our hearts

Come to Jesus for He is shining bright
Nations and Kings will come see the sight
They will come to the brightness of your rising in the night
We will see and burn with a radient light
Come to Jesus, He is that great Light

We will have the Lord
For an everlasting light
God will be our glory
And our song in the night.

Arise, shine, for your light has come
The glory of the Lord has risen upon you
Though the darkness covers the earth
Deep darkness covers the people's view

Come to Jesus for He is shining bright
Nations and Kings will come see the sight
They will come to the brightness of your rising in the night
We will see and burn with a radient light
Come to Jesus, He is that great Light

Abandoned to His Will

We walk one step from eternity.
Your one purpose to fulfill
I desire to follow, follow Christ alone
To be abandoned to His will

Abandoned yet never forsaken
For He is faithful still
We turn away from the world we knew
To be abandoned to His Will

To live is Christ, to die is gain
We serve the living Lord until
He comes to draw us to his side
To be abandoned to His Will

When we drink from broken cisterns
We shall never drink our fill
We count the cost and all as loss
To be abandoned to His will

To do justly and love mercy
To walk humbly up that holy hill
To join you where you were crucified
To be abandoned to Your will

Oh Savior, save me from myself
Take my desires and then instill
A heart that treasures you alone
To be abandoned to Your will.
