...thoughts expressed here are not necessarily final. November 22, 2004 Out of the Office This Week An attitude of Gratitude I think one of the key marks of maturity- in or out of the Christian life, is an attitude of gratitude- to know, not just that things could alwasy be worse than they are (a half empty view) but that indeed, they are so much more than we deserve. Grateful Heart I will trust my loving Lord for he is good and wise I will have a grateful heart for what his love denies He will spare me from desires and dangers I can't recognize I will have a grateful heart for what his love denies I can't trust my senses or discern my desires... I can't see the future or the end my choice requires But I can trust my footsteps to the Lord who knows the way Though I am walking in the dark He will guide me every day... He will not give all I ask , for passions dim my eyes I will have a grateful heart for what his love denies What I call blessing may be a curse that I don't realize I will have a grateful heart for what his love denies.
