October 15, 2007 A Day at Bible Study
My only question didnt yield satisfactory results- no more than anyone debating the question for the last 2000 years has come up with at least...I wondered about the war described in Romans 7 and asked about the factions involved in the war. Is it the tension evidenced in the status of simil justis et peccatore? Is it as the NIV translates sarx- a battle between two natures in one human? To me that abrogates the use of the word nature. Schreiner said he wa uncomfortable with the implications of translation of sarx as nature but admitted that sin is generated somewhere. I do not see the problem with a new creation that deals with a now and not yet aspect of the flesh. Taking it to mean nature moves the issue to another anthropological category. We will Rise Up
