Full of Grace and Truth

Every morning when I rise
Your mercies, Lord, are new.
Though we don’t deserve to lift our eyes
Your compassion still runs true.
Lovingkindness forms your covenant
And forgiveness is your gift
When we trust in you and we repent
Our broken souls you lift.

You are full of grace and truth
You are full of grace and truth
Your mercy’s overflowing
Your compassion still bestowing
You are full of grace and truth

We will cast ourselves headlong upon your grace
We will stand upon your truth as we seek your face
The wells of your mercy never run dry
Your forbearance for your own will never die.

You are full of grace and truth
You are full of grace and truth
Your mercy’s overflowing
Your compassion still bestowing
You are full of grace and truth

Recent weird religious news…

So you think your church has problems?

Across the country, hundreds of ministers and pastors desperate to reach young congregants have drawn concern and criticism through their use of an unusual recruiting tool: the immersive and violent video game Halo. Checkitout...

In August, a Roman Catholic bishop in the Netherlands, Martinus Muskens, suggested that Christians start referring to God as "Allah" as a way of relieving world tensions. "Allah is a very beautiful word . ... What does God care what we call him? It is our problem." A priest in Rome said Muskens' intentions were good, "but his theology needs a little fine-tuning." Muskens said he spent eight years in Indonesia, where Catholic priests used "Allah" during Mass. [Fox News, 8-16-07]

The periodic Christian Nudist Convocation took place in July at the Cherokee Lodge nudist camp in Tennessee, and according to a dispatch in Nashville Scene, the group evokes skepticism not only from most Christians (who dislike the flaunting of naked bodies, even if innocently done) but from most Cherokee Lodge members, who see them as too intense for naturism's laid-back attitude. One CNC attendee acknowledged that many Christians would not approve of Cherokee Lodge, but to him "(I)t's Jerusalem." Another compared his work at nudist camps to missionary work: "(S)ome people get sent to Africa, some people get sent to South America and the Lord was like, 'I want you to go to nudist resorts.' And I'm like, 'Wow, what an assignment.'" [Nashville Scene, 8-2-07]

Jesus is the Final Word

Words may come and words may go
Words are nearly all we know
But of all of the sweet words that can be heard
Jesus is the Final Word.

Upon His more sure promise we will stand.
His teachings, all His sayings, His commands.
We will take them to the nations,
Words of judgment, words of consolation
So that every one might understand.

You are the Final Word
Blessed are those who have heard
All authority is conferred
For you are the Word that lives and moves
You are the Word that comes to prove
The Good News we confess will never fall
As we answer your call.

Jesus all you’ve said is true
Lord you life and death has made us new
Lord your gospel truth we will receive
Your final Word we will believe.

You are the Final Word
Blessed are those who have heard
All authority is conferred
For you are the Word that lives and moves
You are the Word that comes to prove
The Good News we confess will never fall
As we answer your call.

Your PC in 2008 and Beyond- future shock again

True truth: Carrie's Kentucky Family- A friend in my cohort passed this on- it’s all true, and in celebration of her just announced engagement to be married, I post it here in her honor…these are actual names of her family members…I think this is pretty cool, part of what makes america great is the neverending assortment of names...and I am almost sure I can nearly match hers for ingenuity's sake.

Big Bud and Little Bud--(Actual names, renamed themselves Bill and Jack)
Cue, Naughchetty Lavou
Early Cleveland, Furly Enders but called Dommer,
Morley Onden, Thurley Mitchell, Verly Fuller
Zuleema Pauline
Everett and Delbert DeJarnatt--pronounced in French dee-zhar-nay, but on Yellow Dog Road its Dee-Jar-Nut
Dean Jerome, Kenneth Elwayne, Curly, Belva, Rufus Cloyce
And this is why her mom named her Carrie Beth!

Precious Jesus, Holy Jesus

Precious Jesus, Holy Jesus
Precious Jesus, Holy Jesus
Name that overcomes the grave.
Name that tells us Yahweh saves
Yours is the Name above all Names
All our hope- we stake our every claim
Only Jesus, precious Jesus.

Precious Jesus, Holy Jesus
Precious Jesus, Holy Jesus
The Author of redemption’s plan
The pure and spotless, holy lamb,
The Son of God, the Great I Am
Holy Jesus, Precious Jesus.

Precious Jesus, Holy Jesus
Precious Jesus, Holy Jesus
You alone have paid the price
You are the final sacrifice
We’re perfected in the One who will suffice
You took our sin you took the shame
Perfected in the one who is age to age the same
Precious Jesus, Holy Jesus

Elsewhere in space and time, The heavens are still declaring the Glory of God- right here...

As We Walk Within Your Light

We will walk by the Spirit, we will walk side by side
And God’s name, we will fear it, As he devastates our pride.
Then our souls shall be mighty as we stand by His Grace
As we continue to run the race.

For your Spirit indwells us for we are not our own
And your joy o’erswells us as we make the message known
We will walk in true boldness-We will fight the good fight
As we walk within the light
We will walk in the truth, we will do what is right
As we’re walking within Your light.

You have called us from darkness, you have opened our eyes
As we gaze on the brilliance of the truth that never dies
We will walk ever onward by the power of your might
As we walk within your light.

We will press onward, upward, as we follow your call
We will never grow weary of the One who’s All in All.
We’ll stay true to the vision, you will be our delight
As we walk within your light

You have case out the darkness
Of death’s long reigning night
So we’ll walk within your light
So we’ll follow the source of our sight
And we’ll walk within the light.

Another reason I am a teatotaler...

Man stuffs Rattlesnake in mouth to impress his girlfriend-doh. And here.

Guess you don't technically have to be drunk to do this.

Heartbeat

Listen to the world’s heartbreak
Weep with them for Jesus’ sake
For the heart of the Lord is compassion and love
His love will always be enough

So hear the heartbeat of your Lord
And let your heart beat in accord.
Hearts of mercy so tender
Hearts of infinite grace
For only love can change this place.

The deep is calling unto deep
We weep with those we know who weep
Bear the burden of one who has been forlorn
And mourn with those who mourn.

So hear the heartbeat of your Lord
And let your heart beat in accord.
Hearts of mercy so tender
Hearts of infinite grace
For only love can change this place.

Blessed be the Name of the Lord

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Who gives and takes away.
Blessed be the name of the Lord,
HE will hear the prayer you pray.

Crying Blessed be the name of the Lord
In the darkness of your night
Blessed be the Name of the Lord
He is the only source of Light.

Blessed be the Name of the Lord
He promises to never leave
Blessed be the Name of the Lord
The strength of All who will believe.

In the stormlands of trouble He will be your guide
Blessed be the Name of the Lord
In the valley of shadowd in Him you can hide
Blessed be the Name of the Lord

Blessed be the Name of the Lord
Your portion forevermore
Blessed be the Name of the Lord
He’ll give you wings on which to soar.

In your deep devastation when you’ve done what is right
Blessed be the Name of the Lord
When the world comes against you, you must fight the good fight
Blessed be the Name of the Lord

We will walk by faith though we can’t see the end
When we walk by faith more faith he will send
For the battle is the Lord’s-We can’t win it alone
He will bring to dust all of earth’s mighty thrones
In Him we will trust- He who calls us His own
Blessed be the Name of the Lord

Reflecting His Glory

The beauty of the Earth displays true providence
The hills declare his worth-Delighting every sense
The mountains and the fields cry out-The rivers sing his song
The daylight drives out every doubt-That man can raise e’re long.

The World is a witness to His Master Design
The manifold fitness of kind begetting its kind
Each cry of each creature-An echo of Paradise
Each familiar feature sings the Song of Sacrifice.

Reflecting His Glory, reflecting His grace
Earth’s telling the story of our Creator’s embrace
For to Him and for Him and through Him it sings
All nature resounds-Till heaven’s Earthbound
And every creature crowns Lord Jesus as King.

In living and dying, in rising again
Each sunup and sundown-Each season defends
The truth of His Wisdom, His creative art
He would paint his Son’s picture on each hungry heart.

Reflecting His Glory, reflecting His grace
Earth’s telling the story of our Creator’s embrace
For to Him and for Him and through Him it sings
All nature resounds-Till heaven’s Earthbound
And every creature crowns Lord Jesus as King.
