Ancient Tune

Seasons of mercy never end
Whispering Grace as you descend
As you move over the face of the deep
In our souls your image to keep
Your will it is done
And the dance is begun.
To the ancient tune we dance
And we are dancing like a flame
The song shall transcend circumstance
And we shall never be the same
Now the tongues of flame caress our brow
As to the Lord we humbly bow
At the gates of dawn we would burn
For the gates of dawn we still yearn
Enter the silence
If God is wordless and no word awaits
Flesh’s silent cathedral
As we listen in the gate
We burn in the silence
Burn in the mystery of Your life
For there is no violence
And your will is only right
In simple truth you make it plain
As we all dance to your refrain
And blessing pleasure or in pain
The Song will suffice, will more than suffice
Seasons of mercy seasons of grace
Hovering over the face of the deep
The hungry and thirsty
The waif and the wasted you will keep
Store up the tears we weep
As wonder we behold
As we ponder the wonder untold.

Jesus is Lord

Jesus is Lord of the Harvest
Jesus is Lord of the Spring
Lord of day and lord of night
Lord of Faith and Lord of Sight
Lord of all mercy
Lord of all grace
Lord of the hungry and thirsty
Lord over time and space.
Lord of all healing
Lord of my wounds
Lord of the sacred revealing
Lord of the grave and the tomb
Jesus is Lord.
Lord of the mighty
Lord of the weak
Lord you are Lord Almighty
Lord of all who seek.
Lord of the heavens and
Lord of the Earth
Lord of dying and living
Lord of blessing and curse
Lord of all majesty power and praise
Lord of the mystery of history’s days
Lord who is mighty and mighty to save
Jesus is Lord of All.
Lord of the depths
Lord of the heights
Lord of life and of death
Of the day and the night.
Lord of the heavens and
Lord of the Earth
Lord of dying and living
Lord of blessing and curse
Lord of all majesty power and praise
Lord of the mystery of history’s days
Lord who is mighty and mighty to save
Jesus is Lord of All.

Gift Bearer

You are the living vine
You are the cup of wine
Manna of heaven by which we are fed
You are the living bread.
You are the honey sweet
Gift of the rock from which we eat
You are the open gate
The door by which I wait.
You are the water pure
You are the double cure
You are the truth, the way
Great priest to whom we pray.
You are the living stone
The rock of flesh and bone
The pure and lowly lamb
The Righteous Great I Am
You are the gift bearer and freely you give
Give of your bounty so that we may live
And for our sakes you became poor
So that we in our poverty become rich

Salt and Light

Alive in Christ we are set free
We take the towel and bend our knee.
We lose our life to gain
All the treasures of your name
Whether in pleasure or in pain
We are given to you alone
As we bow before your throne
In the silent cathedral of our soul
Where you rend our hearts and make them whole.
Alive in Christ we take our rest
Alive and well and truly blessed
We live we love
We make our move
We find our being
As His Word we prove
As we trust
As we obey
Declared just
No price to pay
As we salt the earth and light the way
Your Kingdom come we pray.
As we live and move and breathe in you today.

Let it Roll

For those who turn justice into wormwood
And cast righteousness down to the earth.
Hate evil, love good
Love the good for all its worth
And establish justice in the gate!
Before it is too late…
Let justice roll down like the waters
Let it roll
Wash away the senseless slaughter
Let it roll
Let it roll on like the thunder
Let it tear the darkness asunder
And let mercy flow down
In the river sin will drown
Let your justice and mercy redeem
Let righteousness roll like an ever flowing stream!
This is what the Lord requires- let it roll
Oh let him break forth like a fire- let it roll
To do justice and love mercy-
For righteousness to remain thirsty
And to hunger for the filling of our soul…so let it roll.
Roll like thunder, rage like a river, let it flow
Let it be a righteous wonder to a world that needs to know
Let it tear asunder every lofty argument that is raised
That sets itself against the wisdom of the ancient of days!
Like a fiery flow of a volcano
Cut a course through the earth below
Till it consumes all in its wrath
And sears a straight and narrow path
A place where we can go.
Let justice roll down like the waters
Let it roll
Wash away the senseless slaughter
Let it roll
Let it roll on like the thunder
Let it tear the darkness asunder
And let mercy flow down
In the river sin will drown
Let your justice and mercy redeem
Let righteousness roll like an ever flowing stream!

The Next Best Thing

Through seasons of bewilderment,
Seasons of silent change
Seasons of intensity
When fleeting hope remains
Seasons of waiting
When God’s face you cannot see
And though your chains be made of gold
Still chains are all they can be.
Do the next best thing
Trust that god’s promises are true
When you’re not sure just what to do
Do the next best thing
Do the next best thing.
Keep it simple, keep it pure
Know the Lord’s mercies endure
His graces are forever sure
So do the next best thing.
While waiting and a–wondering
The future you are pondering
Put one foot in front of the other and go
When you don’t know what to do next do what you know.
As you are going without knowing
His Grace He is bestowing
As we trust and obey
He will reveal the way
So know that you’ll be kept
Though you can’t see that next step.
Keep it simple, keep it pure
Know the Lord’s mercies endure
His graces are forever sure
So do the next best thing.
