August 8, 2005 I caught some songs this weekend during meditation on the Word. Here are the results sans sounds...

Do you know my Jesus ?

Friend we’ve know each other now for some time
We shared some meals and shared some fun-We’ve shared some hard times
I want to share some good news the thing that makes me care
So like a beggar sharing bread I have a treasure I would share
Do you know my Jesus
Do you trust In Him?
Do you know my Jesus
Has he cleansed you from your sin?
Do you trust my Jesus?
Has your life begun again?
For he’s the life, the truth, the way
So trust him with your heart today
And you will find he’ll never lead you astray.
Stranger, we don’t know each other but I’m a lot like you
I want to know the purpose of this life we’re going through
And though I may not know you, there are some things I know well
So if you’ll listen for a moment- there’s good news that I would tell
Do you know my Jesus
Do you trust In Him?
Do you know my Jesus
Has he cleansed you from your sin?
Do you trust my Jesus?
Has your life begun again?
For he’s the life, the truth, the way
So trust him with your heart today
And you will find he’ll never lead you astray.

You are our Everything.

When I am thirsty you give water sweet
When I am hungry you provide food to eat
When I am weary you give me sweet rest
When I am needy by you I am blessed
Oh Lord we seek your mercy Oh Lord we seek your grace
Oh Lord we seek your mercy Oh Lord we seek your face
For you are Lord Messiah King
We hide beneath your sheltering wing

Your protection and provision
Is more than we can envision
Above all we think or ask
You are sufficient for the task
So Lord of your great providence we sing
You are our everything.
When I am wandering you show me the way
When I am wavering a firm foundation you lay
When I am wanting you give all that I need
When I’m in weakness you’ll ever intercede
Oh Lord we seek your mercy Oh Lord we seek your grace
Oh Lord we seek your mercy Oh Lord we seek your face
For you are Lord Messiah King
We hide beneath your sheltering wing
Your protection and provision
Is more than we can envision
Above all we think or ask
You are sufficient for the task
So Lord of your great providence we sing
You are our everything.

Open our eyes to heaven

Open our eyes to heaven
Your will be done on earth
As it is done in heaven
Let us declare your worth
Open our minds to heaven
Help us to hope in you
Give us a taste of heaven
Reveal to us what is true.
For Lord these scenes around me
They seem to be so real
I know that they will pass away
Just like these things I feel.
In the light of you unseen way
Your mystery is revealed
So set our minds on unseen things
A fallen world would conceal.
Lord let the light of heaven shine
Shine from your glorious face
Lord as we reflect your light
Let the shadows flee from this place
Light our path as we run this race!
The light that lights my path on earth is of another kind
I’ve grown accustomed to the dark -I might as well be blind
You said if I walk in your light and seek then I will find
Lord show the way and light the path I pray
Let me see your glory in the way that you designed!
Open our eyes to heaven
Your will be done on earth
As it’ done in heaven
Let us declare your worth
Open our minds to heaven
Help us to hope in you
Give us a taste of heaven
Reveal to us what is true.

You have called us

You have called us out of the darkness
Into your radiant light
We’ll heed the call of the Lord of all
Who redeems us and gives us sight
You have called out of the world and
Set us apart to be new
You have called us now to be holy
Wholly devoted to you
We answer your call
On our knees we fall
We go where you call us to go

The call is so clear
We know what we hear
So your perfect will we will know
You have called us out of our old ways
Called us to be renewed
You have called us to be conformed
Called us to look like you
We will repent,
We won’t relent
For you have sent your word
We’ll watch and pray
We will obey
The command of God we’ve heard.

God is for Us

It is such a sweet affirmation - it is us our God is for
Neither human evil nor human error
Nor human negligence can thwart
The will of the Living God- It shall reign within our heart!
His purposes prevail
His plans will never fail
So we can trust and say it is well with my soul
His plans from first to last will surely come to pass.
So we can trust our sovereign God to be in control
When the storms of life
May come and you don’t understand
Remember God’s not in His heaven
Wringing His holy hands
What will come to be What we see and do not see
Is all before His all consuming eyes
He hears and He is for us So raise a mighty chorus
That our God has the answer to every question why.
Jesus knows our needs he ever intercedes
And Jesus is the Champion of God’s cause
The beginning and the end all upon His grace depend.
And he raises up every soul He draws!

Jesus Light of the world

Jesus light of the world dawn on our darkness where we cannot see
Jesus light of the world you called us from darkness so we can be free
Grace this world with glory let it shine
Place your light within this place and its dark passions bind
Jesus light of the world Blazing with glory overcome the night
Jesus light of the world tell us the story
That makes our hearts right.
There is no other light like yours and no light shall ever be
No radiance that can compare with the glory that we see.
Jesus light of the world stir up the flame and ,make the shadows flee
Jesus light of the world the light that overcomes the world
Is the same light that life defines
The darkness cannot comprehend
For the night can’t see what shines.
Jesus light of the world Jesus light of the world
We pray you light out hearts and souls and minds.

Glimpse of your Eternity

The signs of the times can speak louder than words
They serve to remind us of what we have heard
The reasons and rhymes of this world are so absurd
So help me see a glimpse of your Eternity.
Lord be my vision Lord be my eyes
For each decision help me realize
It’s your Spirit’s mission to make me wise
So I can see the patterns of eternity.
Lord give me insight so I’ll understand
Lord make my path bright in this alien land
Help me see what’s right so I’ll rightly stand
Lord help me see a glimpse of your eternity
Make my vision clear for I have been blind
And cast out my fears so your way I can find
Though blinded by tears I’ll never look behind
Lord help me see a glimpse of your eternity

I Sing of Your Holy Mystery

I sing of your holy mystery
I sing of your revelation sure
I sing of your mighty acts in history
And the knowledge of your glory- rock solid and secure
I sing for you have shattered the silence
I sing for you spoke living words
I sing of your light- how it gives me guidance
Now your songs in the night shall be heard.
So I sing I sing. The word that became flesh became the proof
You are there and you are with us
You are the incarnation of the truth
I sing oh yes I sing You are there, you are not silent, so draw us near.
I sing because you show us all of your glory
In the face of our Christ Jesus it is made clear

So the earth will be filled with the knowledge
The knowledge the glory of the Lord everywhere!
Just like the waters cover the seas
Your manifest presence is declared!
So we will sing our voices will ring!
And this joy to all the nations we will bear
For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord
Just as the waters cover up the sea
For He bears the fullness of the Godhead in His body
And he was lifted up for all the world to see.
I will sing in his presence evermore
I will sing of his presence and His name adore
I will sing this is what our voices were created for
The good news I will bring
Of his mighty acts I’ll sing
And the fruit of my lips will be my offering
For the glory of the Lord
Shall be revealed and it won’t be ignored
Entry into his throne room has now been restored
I will dwell forevermore –I will dwell forevermore
I will dwell in the presence of the Lord.

We worship the King!

The oceans roar, the spheres bow down before Him,
The angels and the saints as One adore Him!
We offer thanks, we offer praise
We magnify His majestic ways
We lift our voice and a new song we will sing
We worship the King!
The universe was created through Him
So all creation’s worship now is due Him
We bow down now before His throne
We worship Christ and Christ alone
Hear our voices ring- we worship our King!
King of glory reign in majesty
Reign in righteousness for all the world to see,
We bend our knee and fall on our face
In awe of your amazing Grace
And so we bring our offering
And worship the King.
King of glory reign in majesty
Reign in righteousness for all the world to see,
We lift our hands, we lift our eyes
We cast them toward the Eastern skies
And look for the day that your return will bring
We worship the King!
King of glory reign in majesty
Reign in righteousness for all the world to see,
We sing our praise with songs made new
And give honor to Whom all honor is due
We will ever praise your name and sing
We worship the King!

My soul sings! (Magna et Mirabilia)

My soul sings! My soul sings of my Great Redeemer’s praise!
My soul sings! My soul sings of my Great Redeemer’s praise!
You have become my great salvation
With the song of the redeemed I lift my voice
He has regarded me and heard my plea
With a heart full of singing I will rejoice!
My soul sings! My soul sings of my Great Redeemer’s praise!
My soul sings! My soul sings of my Great Redeemer’s praise!

O ruler of the universe, Lord God,
Great and mighty deeds you have done,
Your works surpass all human understanding
Be magnified, Oh Righteous, Holy One!
My soul sings! My soul sings of my Great Redeemer’s praise!
My soul sings! My soul sings of my Great Redeemer’s praise!
O Lord God, the Almighty;
Righteous and true are your ways,
Great and marvelous are your works,
Oh King of the ages, God of all praise!
My soul sings! My soul sings of my Great Redeemer’s praise!
My soul sings! My soul sings of my Great Redeemer’s praise!
Your finished work has found it’s just completion
You sit at the right hand of the Power on High
Now you perfect your vision of salvation
In the ones you have redeemed and sanctified!
My soul sings! My soul sings of my Great Redeemer’s praise!
My soul sings! My soul sings of my Great Redeemer’s praise!

Something Quotable...

Don't lose any opportunity, however small, of being gentle toward everyone. Don't rely on your own efforts to succeed in your various undertakings, but only on God's help. Then rest in his care of you, confident that he will do what is best for you, provided that you will, for your part, work diligently but gently. I say "gently" because a tense diligence is harmful both to our heart and to our task and is not really diligence, but rather over eagerness and anxiety...I recommend you to God's mercy. I beg him, through that same mercy, to fill you with his love. - Francis de Sales

Chicken Surprise -Heard any good jokes lately?

A couple decided to go for a meal and after some deliberation settled for their local Chinese restaurant.
They peruse the menu and finally agree to share the chef's special 'Chicken Surprise'.
The waiter brings over the meal, served in a lidded cast iron pot.
Just as the wife is about to start in on the meal, the lid of the pot rises by a tiny amount and she briefly sees two beady little eyes looking around before the lid slams back down.
'Good grief, did you see that?' she asks her husband.
He hasn't so she asks him to look in the pot. He reaches for it and again the lid rises, and he sees two beady little eyes looking around before it firmly slams back down.
Rather perturbed he calls the waiter over, explains what is happening, and demands an explanation.
'Well sir', says the waiter, 'What did you order?'
'We both chose the same', he replies, 'the Chicken Surprise'
'Oh I do apologise, this is my fault' says the waiter...

wait for it...
