August 1, 2005 I caught some songs this weekend during
meditation on the Word. Here are the results sans sounds...
Behold the Glory
In the glory of the earth in the glories of the skies
In the miracle of birth God’s Glory discards its disguise.
For everywhere you look you’ll see glimpses of His Glory
If we only open our eyes so we can see.
For here and there and everywhere
All creation must declare
The glory of the creator to his praise
The angels sing- hallelujah’s ring
The nights will call out to days
Behold the glory is revealed
Behold His glory the whole earth has filled
Behold his light, set your sights on His grace
Claim your reward as you seek His face.
In the light of the knowledge of the Lord we have kneeled
In the face of Christ Jesus Glory is revealed.
The fullness of God is divulged in the God-Man
Behold him now and you will understand
In the light of His glory take your stand.
Mystery repeats itself as all creation shouts
History reveals his mighty acts there is not doubt.
If man fails to declare his praise the rocks and hills cry out.
Behold the glory Declare the glory
You’ve told of the glory Now bear the glory
And show what His glory’s all about!

Lifted Lying Rising
My savior bled and died for me
My sovereign rose to set me free
For the joy that before him was set
He endured the cross and paid my debt
His wounded brow, his pierced side
Marks of love that cannot be denied
For by those stripes our souls are healed
And by his blood our joy is sealed.
Lifted up he reveals -the proof of righteousness
Lifted up now he heals -our hearts so we confess
Lifted up he repeals -our sentence so we’re blessed
Lifted up now he seals -Atonement’s place of rest.
Lying down in the grave -he buries all our sin
Lying down grace he gave -sufficient for all men
Lying down now he saves -for he shall rise again
He redeemed and forgave -so we will reign with him

Rising up from the dead -his own life he retrieves
Rising up we are led-to fall down on our knees
He suffered and bled -for the sinner who believes
Rising up as he said -his reward he receives.
Though he was crucified- death could not spell his doom
For his eyes opened wide -reborn in earth’s dark womb
He ascended and abides-in the Father’s royal throne room
He shall return for his bride -as a faithful bridegroom.
So Now he rules from on high -ever to intercede
And Now he never shall die -for death has done it’s deed
Now his blood is applied -for every sinner’s need
When to him we cry -and so our souls are freed.

Comfort Zone
Make my heart tender as I surrender
Open my heart to its innermost part as true service I render
Forge my affections into heartfelt connections
Take my motives I pray and renew them today
Pow’red by your resurrection.
For I would isolate myself alone in this garden with you!
But you send me out into the world to do what you'd have me to do…
You came to seek and save the lost
To conquer sin and pay the cost
So by the power of your cross
I step out of my comfort zone
These familiar things I've known
To serve you and you alone!
Lord I need so much to reach out and touch
Someone different than me
Someone who doesn't see
Eye to eye with my view of reality
So Lord open my eyes and help me realize
That there but for the grace of God go I
And if I don't go out to them then I might as well just die
For we are your feet and we are your hands
We're to walk and to work according to your plans
To walk by your Holy Spirit's commands
Lord open our hearts to do what love demands!

I'll walk in your will and way And I hope every day
To be changed into your likeness
I want to walk in your word and to do what I’ve heard
Just to find another way to bless you
If I learn to obey then I will be free
To fly within your boundaries!

Trust You
When the storm is raging and surrounds me
And when the darkness falls upon my eye
You send your angels to encamp around me
Nothing separates us even though I may die
When the ones who love me have bereft me,
You will not forsake me - for together we abide
When friends turned their backs and left me
You reached out with tender arms and drew me to your side.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
Lean not on your own understanding
In all your ways acknowledge him
And he will make your pathway straight
Trust in the Lord, Trust in the Lord!
Trust Him in the small things where you want to take control
Trust Him in the unseen things- your heart and mind and soul
Trust Him with your life and you’ll bring honor to his name

Trust Him by his power we will stake our claim
To be our portion evermore from age to age the same!
We revere and rely on you matchless name
For this life is a vapor only life in you is true!
