July 30, 2007- The Revisiting Muse- the Cross is on my mind this week...

Deep with God

Plunge me deep in living water
Overflow me with your love
Flood my soul with life most holy
Take me deep as I look above
Buried with you in baptism
To newness of life I’m raised
As we go deeper and deeper
We are lifted that you might be praised.
On the highest mountain
In the deepest valley
Thank you Lord that you are there
In the richest priceless palace
In the backstreet alley
Thank you Lord that you are there.
Let the River of Life overflow me
Let the depths of His riches be mine
Going deep in the valley of vision
To be covered with Your blessing divine!

The Image of the Crucified

Look at the cross
Be driven to your knees
Look to the cross
Fall on your face
There at the cross
All your enemies
Are defeated by Your grace
Here in this holy place

Look to the cross
Fall at the cross
Cling to the cross
Come to the cross.

The image of the crucified
Will change the way you see
Your joys and your strength abide
In the broken one of Calvary
The image of the crucified
Invalidates the view
All earthly notions of success
Are transformed by the word
That we confess

Uncircumcised hearts
Uncircumcised ears
They haven't got a clue
The last will be first
And the first shall be last
All who hunger and thirst
He will break their holy fast

Lord our spirits receive
As we turn and believe
As we repent of our sin
New life will begin
Scatter us to the wind
Move us out unto your end
Salt and light and seed is hurled
To dare to differ with the world.

Weight of the Word (All My Sin)

Weight of the world
Binding my heart
Weight of the world
In missing the mark
Everything’s changed
When you’re losing your life
When you’re facing your death
You get new sight
New priority
New plan-No longer left
To our own devices
He is the Christ of your crisis.

One faith one hope
One baptism of life
One God and Father
Who reigns now in light
One savior and King
Who reigns from above
One people who sing
Of your marvelous love.

Lay it down

Lay it down

Lay it all down

Send me a Song

Lord give me a song this morning
As I turn my eyes to you
For the day is nearly dawning
And the night is almost through
As I sit here in this silence
May your words ring clear and true
Lord send me a song
And I will sing it to you.

You alone can write the music
That your servants long to hear
So lord take my pain and use it
And make your message clear
Through the suffering and sorrow
Through the trials and the tests
Take us through until tomorrow
For we are most blessed.

Lord your song of hope rings loud and clear
It will turn hard hearts to praise
Lord your song of hope will draw us near
To the author of our days
For the song you have written
Will glorify your name
The music and the melody
Will make your glory plain
So we sing this song of hope
In Jesus name

Lord your song of hope rings loud and clear
It will turn hard hearts to praise
Lord your song of hope will draw us near
To the author of our days
For the song you have written
Will glorify your name
The music and the melody
Will make your glory plain
So we sing this song of hope
In Jesus name

At Calvary

The price of the life you gave
Was paid at Calvary
All the burdens that you bore
All of holy wrath’s store
Were released upon that holy sacrifice
And God’s son paid the perfect price.

To the cross of Christ we’ll cling
To the perfect offering
Where the son of God was cut off
By the Father’s perfect wrath
This perfect circumcision
Held in true derision
This alone was the perfect path
Did he lay his head upon death’s stone
And dream of Calvary?

Calvary
Where the second Adam died for me
He hung there on the holy tree
Tree of life given to you and me
I will look to Calvary
Where the ransom was paid
And we were set free
By the holy one of Calvary.

Sing of the Glory

Sing out devotion to the Lord
Let us sing with emotion to the Lord
He is worthy to be adored
So sing to the Lord.

The Lord of life is worthy
In righteousness he rules
He sheds abroad his glory
On the wizened and the fools

And we stand by grace in union
By the glory we will stand
To walk within the light
To be made right
By the power of his right hand…

Oh to the cross we will cling
To the blood of offering
And we’ll see it intercede for all our sin
In the cross of Christ we’ll hide
Evermore there we’ll abide
For the power of the cross
For the power of the cross
Fort the power of the cross
Will provide
By the power of the cross we will abide.

Where the perfect lamb was slain
Where His loss became our gain
Sing of the glory
Sing of the glory
Sing of the glory of the Lord
Sing of the glory
Sing redemption’s story
Sing of the glory of the Lord.

Risen from the dead, he lives
He died in our stead-We live
Reign victorious o’er the grave
Great and glorious
Mighty to save
Interceding grace He gave
At the cross the wonderful cross!

Dying then at the cross
Life begins at the cross
Righteous wrath defined man’s loss
At the cross the wonderful cross.

Full atonement at the gate
The suffering servant upon the Lord awaits
His wrathful ire propitiates
At the cross the wonderful cross

Saving faith is ours to own
The gift of Christ and Christ alone
Flesh of our flesh
Bone of the Father’s bone
On the cross, the wonderful cross.

Billboard

I wanna be a billboard for the Lord
I wanna be a pointer to His grace
I wanna be a sign of love and more
I wanna be a mirror where you can see his face
I wanna be a record of His reign
I wanna be a banner to His fame
An advertisement for the Joy
So I can make it plain...

To be Crucified In Christ

Filled with wonder and awe
I hearken, I listen for your call
Filled with hearts full of praise
We seek the hand
Of the author of our days

To be crucified in Christ
Nevertheless I live-Yet not I
But Christ lives within me
The life I now live
I live to HIM ALONE.
In the cross I will boast
I base my life in the one whom I love the most

I will sing of its worth
And how a place of death
Became a place of new birth
At the cross, the ground is level
We stand shoulder to shoulder without blame
For Christ defeated the devil
Fulfilled the holy work for which he came

To be crucified in Christ
Nevertheless I live-Yet not I
But Christ lives within me
The life I now live
I live to HIM ALONE.
In the cross I will boast
I base my life in the one whom I love the most

We Must Go Through

There is no bridge over this troubled water
We must go through
We must go through
When there is no release from senseless slaughter
We must go through
We must go through

But through it all my Savior leads
He goes before and intercedes
He is the solace my soul needs
For we must go through.

A rock and refuge midst the raging rivers of our life
We pass through deadly currents as death reigns down its strife
And though I drown my soul will not be overwhelmed this day
For when we pass through waters he will be our hope and stay.

He parts the seas, the waters divide
We must go through
We must go through

His pillar of fire shall be our guide
We must go through
We must go through

And though his fire consume me
I will trust in Christ alone
Though death may seek to doom me
It’s power is broken for Christ is on His throne.
