April 23, 2007 Highview hosts the Getty's

The modern hymnwriters are touring the country exposing the masses to their new work. I already have their CD so the songs are familiar. Several would be familiar anywhere, such as Across the Lands, In Christ Alone, and the Power of the Cross. Frankly I could not sing some of the songs for tearing up. In other cases, I think the oversimplification starts to make some songs sound the same. In a third category are ones that are, in my opinion, "not very tuneful" as an old friend used to say.
