Grammer Brazilian Rosewood and spruce Dreadnought est. from the early 1960Õs.

Original description from seller: ÒAcoustic Guitar for Project; made by Grammar (sic)

no label inside and headstock logo was removed but guaranteed to be a Grammar guitar, I believe the model is S-10; Solid Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and Solid Spruce Top; needs some restoration as seen: finish has been removed, there is a small puncture on back of body, missing Tuners, has a couple cracks on top – center, seam slightly split; there is no adjustment nut for truss rod, or was covered up - looks like there is a plug seen on headstock-not sure if that is they came that way or not. Neck appears straight but I have not strung it up so you may have to play with it to make it perfect. Needs some work, sold AS-IS, no returns, includes old Larivee case.Ó

I checked a hole in the back  which was approximately 3/16Ó which showed no sign of lamination. It has a pinless bridge but a full sized bridge plate. I checked with the Grammer experts and no one recognized this mystery machine as Billy Grammer designs had a distinctive bridge. The other specs do seem to align with published Grammer details for the most part. Could be a J. W. Gower/Grammer prototype per headstock . The guitar has no end pin or strap pin so I left it that way. The interior and exterior grain pattern match up perfectly- I did this by superimposing a mirror image of the inside over an image of the back. I then proceed to refurbish it: scuff sanded the surface and flash coated a sunburst to cover some of the dark spots on the soundboard. I replaced the tuners with gold Grover 18:1 machines, and radiused the saddle which had never been done. I then re-glued one brace and put Elixir bronze/phosphor light strings on it after light buffing and polishing . The truss rod hole was plugged but I put a cover over the plug for cosmetic purposes. Has medium action.
