1963 Martin 000-28C Serial Number 190631 (unconverted)

A wonderfully preserved, crack free 12 fret 000-28 Martin, with gorgeous Brazilian rosewood back and sides. The tone of this instrument is wonderful. It stands up to many high end Spanish made classical guitars of the period for Brazilian rosewood warmth. While intentionally not built for concert hall volume, the bass tone and clarity of the trebles on large-bodied Martin nylon strings guitars with Brazilian back and sides is unsurpassed. Like other Martin classicals, the 000-28c used a longer sloped shoulder design similar to a pre-1934 000-28. Though not as collectible as steel-string Martins, nylon-stringed Martins from the '60s are well-regarded instruments.

The twelve-fret neck has side position markers, slotted headstock, volute, 2Ó nut with 2 ¼Ó string spacing at the bridge. Little play wear on the top, one light scratch on the back. It's a ladder-braced guitar currently set up with nylon strings with a wound third string. They can also be set up with classical, gut, or silk and steel depending on preference and playing style. Comes with an original Lifton case made specifically for this model.
