BC Rich B20 1973 mahogany dreadnought Serial #301008

73 B.C. RICH Los Angeles California. This is a wonderful vintage B20 B.C. Rich Bernardo Rico that is special known for building D-type Flat Tops early on in their beginnings mostly using rarer woods whenever possible.  In this case Honduran mahogany and European spruce according to one source. This has a nicely patinaed top w/some cool markings, light checking,  & has medium grain with an aged 48 year old finish that almost looks like Cedar. SheÕs sporting a Herringbone border and a green sound hole rosette. ItÕs got a bound diamond inlaid ebony fingerboard & bridge over a 1 piece Spanish neck , and has a full sized feel that is perfect & she has a magical light tone w/plenty of bottom end. Its bound headstock has a pretty inlaid ÒRÓ in its rare lamination. Frets are in very good condition, Schaller tuners look original. Cracks in the side look to have been repaired with hide glue, nitro finish retains lines.

Overall sheÕs got a wonderful  old vintage tone. Complete with Hard Case. This B20, is somewhat the oddball, built in 1973 by Bernie. Not many of them have ever sold on Reverb.  Crack in the nitro finish on neck above heel repaired prior to my purchase. Action is high but manageable. Does not have a truss rod. Cosmetic Condition: shows only light signs of playwear for its age.
